The Dream Address “CPCP Island” by the National Center for the Promotion of Cultural Properties (CPCP) is now open in the Nintendo Switch game Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
CPCP Island contains areas inspired by various cultural properties in the collections of the National Institutes for Cultural Heritage, including paintings, crafts, and artifacts.
You can enjoy parts of the rich world of Japanese cultural properties within the world of Animal Crossing.

Highlights of CPCP Island
CPCP Island consists of ten areas inspired by cultural properties from the Jomon period to the present day in the collections of the National Institutes for Cultural Heritage. As you explore, it’s also fun to guess which artworks served as the inspiration.
The waterside irises and eight-plank bridge depicted in “Writing Box with the Eight-Plank Bridge” by Ogata Korin have been recreated in Animal Crossing.

It is based on the Haniwa of Dancing People and Beauty Looking Back Conservation Project by the CPCP and TNM.

This custom design recreates the yukata (summer kimono) and fan of the woman depicted in Lakeside by Kuroda Seiki (TNM collection).

This hat and face-cutout board allow you to transform into Tomb Sculptures (‘Haniwa’): Dancing People in the TNM collection.
The custom design is based on the Haniwa of Dancing People and Beauty Looking Back Conservation Project by the CPCP and TNM.
