The kinetic art display kit “Amazing Snakes” has been completed!

Hands-on contents

Articulated sculptures, called “Jizai Okimono” also “Jizai,” are animals made out of metal that look just like living creatures. They were first made in the 1700s by craftspeople specializing in armor called armorers.
This project contains a replica Articulated Snake exhibited as kinetic art in January 2025 at Tokyo National Museum, and was reborn as a traveling exhibition kit by adding commentary panels.
You can compare it with the real snake (replica) while watching the movement of the Articulated Snake, and learn about the structure of the Articulated Snake by experiencing the hands-on that you actually touch.
*We will inform you of the details of this traveling exhibition kit (how to hire etc.) on the website as soon as it is confirmed.
