Exhibition Highlights
The name of this feature exhibition is a reference to the Japanese idiom “an array of fine individuals,” which is derived from the verse “Numerous is the array of officers, and by them King Wen enjoys his repose,” from Major Court Hymns of King Wen in The Classic of Poetry, the oldest existing collection of Chinese poems and songs.
Visitors will be able to appreciate fine tea utensils representing two styles of tea ceremony, the Japanese tea ceremony and the Chinese-style sencha tea ceremony.

Interactive Digital Content
“A Hands-On Look at Legendary Tea Bowls,” interactive content for appreciating cultural properties in new ways developed by the Tokyo National Museum, the National Center for the Promotion of Cultural Properties, and Sharp Corporation using 8K technology, has evolved even further. The latest version is now available at the Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum.*。
By moving tea-bowl-shaped hands-on controllers created to look and weight the same as the original cultural properties, users can view high-resolution images on an 8K monitor from any angle. Choose your favorites from among six legendary tea bowls and enjoy touching them and turning them in your hands, as if handling and appreciating the actual tea bowl.
You can view the original of “Tea Bowl, Yellow Seto Style” featured in this content by visiting “An Array of Fine Tea Utensils.”
